Educational Foundation Bunka Gakuen (Bunka Fashion Graduate University, Bunka Fashion College, Bunka Gakuen University, and Bunka Institute of Language), located in Tokyo, which is the center of Japan, has led Japan’s education in fashion for more than 90 years. Bunka Fashion Graduate University (BFGU) was established in 2006 as an independent professional graduate school without an undergraduate school by bringing together the achievements and expertise and as the first and only professional graduate fashion university in Japan.
In the fashion field, many graduate schools specializing in creation are found in the graduate schools of art colleges, and graduate school courses specializing in management are offered under MBA programs around the world. However, BFGU is a rare graduate school among those worldwide in that it offers the two majors of fashion creation and fashion management within the Graduate school of Fashion Business aiming to develop “new creators.”
