Centro Cultural São Paulo

Centro Cultural São Paulo

Public space of culture and entertainment, the Centro Cultural São Paulo (of the Municipal Culture Secretariat) receives the public on four floors of an area of 46,500 m² located between Vergueiro streets and May 23, and between Vergueiro and Paraíso subway stations. Opened on May 13, 1982, from the need for an extension of the Mário de Andrade Library, it became one of the first multidisciplinary cultural spaces in the country. In addition to a set of libraries, and a program in various areas of culture, it is responsible for managing five collections: Coleção de Arte da Cidade (Art Collection), Arquivo Multimeios (Multimedia Archive), Discoteca Oneyda Alvarenga (Sound Library), Acervo Histórico da Discoteca Oneyda Alvarenga and Memória CCSP.
