The DC Public Library (DCPL) celebrates art and exhibits as a source of learning, discovery, growth, and connection. The Art and Exhibits Program at DC Public Library is a portal to its resources and a laboratory for engagement with Washington, D.C.’s past, present and future.

The Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Library, the central library for the DC Public Library system, was designed by Mies Van der Rohe and opened in 1972. It has undergone a $211 million renovation providing residents and visitors with a world class central library.
