Oksana Bulgakova, Director of Film Science and Media Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz since 2008, examines audiovisual culture as a media practice in the past and present and relates theoretical and historical knowledge to analytical and dramaturgical questions. The focus of research and teaching is the systematic analysis of the medium of film, its history and mediation.
