Renown collections include the Dolley Madison collection, the Robert McKinney Historical and Commemorative Glass collection and the Dr. John Murphy Civil War Confederate Weapons Collection. The museum is housed in a national register Richardsonian Romanesque building with turn of the century additions. The adjoining Richardson Park has four historic structures including a late 18th c. home and blacksmith shop.
