The Gwacheon National Science Museum is the principal place of interests in Korea as a complex center of science and technology. It was grand opened on November 14, 2008. Considering the scale it is regarded as one of the biggest and most well-equipped science museums in the world with over 2,400 exhibits in a broad view built on the plottage of 243,970 -wide, the building area of 49,582 ㎡ and the exhibition area of 19,127㎡. The exterior of main building represents a futuristic flying object, representing humanity’s dream of the future, the creativity of exploration, and the potential of science and technology. Permanent exhibition halls are arranged inside the main building such as Basic Science Hall, Advanced Science & Technology Hall, Children’s Hall, Natural History Hall, Korean Traditional Science Hall. There are also Planetarium, Astronomical Observatory, Insectarium, Eco-park, Outdoor Exhibition Area, Square of Science, Science Camp and a variety of amenities outdoors.
