The Wang family in Langzhong has inherited shadow play art for generations and is one of the most renowned families for preserving shadow play in China, enjoying a high reputation internationally. Wang Wenkun inherited and carried forward the shadow play art left behind by his ancestors and was praised as an "all-rounder" and a master with merits drawn from various schools, including mastering skills like carving, painting, singing, manipulating and playing instruments. The "Wang's Shadow Play", a school shaped primarily by Wang Wenkun, is a unique, ingenious and unfading art among various resplendent shadow play art schools in China.
