The Swiss Pavilion in Venice, just round the corner from the main entrance to the 'Giardini publici' exhibition site, was set up by architect Bruno Giacometti in 1951/52 and is in the possession of the Swiss Confederation. On behalf of the government, the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia regularly presents Switzerland’s official contributions to the art and architecture biennials of Venice in the pavilion.
