Manna Dey Sangeet Academy has been set up with the blessings and love from the Great Music Legend Shri Manna Dey with the absolute objectives of an educational and cultural uplift of the music lovers of India on 1st May, 2005 and is registered under W.B. Societies Act XXVI of 1961 and having 80G and 12A certificates of income tax exemption.
Our activities are also archival in nature on contribution, performance and achievements of the Indian music maestro Sri Manna Dey, having no motto of any kind of profit and business. We have created the Manna Dey Music Archive at Rabindra Bharati University at their Jorasanko campus and was inaugurated by Shri Manna Dey & his wife Sm Sulochona Dey on 29th May, 2009 in presence of the Vice Chancellor, Professors and students of the Rabindra Bharati University.
In the last thirteen years we have made progress towards our objectives by performing different activities as given below:

 We have developed a complete archive on Padmabhusan Manna Dey named Manna Dey Music Archive at Rabindra Bharati University, Jorasanko Campus, Kolkata where all the available works of the Great legend, photographs, live recordings and the news clippings with other allied materials has been preserved.

 We have conducted a number of seminars and workshops related to Indian music at the Manna Dey Music Archive, where eminent personalities from Indian musical field took part as speakers.

 We are providing Sangeet Ratna Manna Dey Award to the topper of Post Graduate Course of Rabindra Bharati University in Rabindra Sangeet discipline from the year 2010.

 We are providing Manna Dey Sangeet Academy Awards to the young talents each year through competition from the year 2009.

 We have felicitated many eminent lyricists, music directors, musicians and artists in the last twelve years by providing Saraswaat Samman each year.

 We arranged different cultural programs where Padmabhusan Manna Dey and other artists took part and we are proudly carrying this heritage till date.

 We have conducted exhibitions of Rare Photographs of Shri Manna Dey

 We have produced a docu-feature film Jiboner Jalsaghorey, based on the autobiography of Sri Manna Dey, directed by the eminent film personality, Dr. Satarupa Sanyal, where Sri Manna Dey also took part. The film is being marketed by SaReGaMa India Ltd.

 We published different books and souvenirs on different occasions.
