The Royal Museums of Turin are located in the heart of the city and offer a fascinating itinerary of history, art and nature that winds its way through the centuries, with evidence dating from prehistoric to modern times. The complex is built around what was Italy's first Royal Palace, permanently inhabited by the Savoy family until 1865, and also includes the Armory and the Chapel of the Shroud, the Royal Library, the Sabauda Gallery, the Museum of Antiquities with the Roman Theater and the Archaeological Gallery, the Royal Gardens and the Chiablese Rooms, used for temporary exhibitions. All the different spaces are part of one large museum, among the largest in Italy, which offers the public educational activities, organizes temporary exhibitions and conducts research on the collections, placing itself in a dynamic relationship with the visitors' experience and developing opportunities for better access, knowledge, creativity and enjoyment.
