Museum of Crimes and Victims of Communism was founded by Civil society Unknown Heroes. Society's main purpose is training young people and teachers in discovering unknown heroes who helped to regain freedom for everyone through their attitudes.
Museum was officially opened on March 25th, 2013 - on the day of the 25th anniversary of anti-communist demonstration in Bratislava (Candle Demonstration) which was attended by about 10,000 people.
At the moment, the museum is still working as a volunteer project, backed by historian and journalist František Neupauer and Marta B. Košíková in cooperation with St. Elizabeth University of Health & Social Sciences in Bratislava.
