Born in 2000 from the merger between the Opera and the Orchestra, and directed since 2013 by Valérie Chevalier, the Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie is one of the most important musical stages in France. Occupying the two main theaters of Montpellier, the Opéra Comédie (opened in 1888) and the Opéra Berlioz (1990), the Opéra Orchestre also performs in the Metropolis of Montpellier, in the Occitanie Region, and is regularly invited to the most major national stages. Its Seasons offers a large choice of events such as operas, symphonic concerts, chamber and baroque music, film concerts or escape games, to more than 150,000 spectators each year.
