Parramatta Park lies in the middle of Parramatta's busy central business district. It covers an area of 85 hectares, including significant cultural and natural heritage areas, and around 10 hectares of remnant Cumberland Plain vegetation. The Park receives over 2 million visits each year and is one of the 11 historic places that together form the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage property. The Park was gazetted as a ‘People’s Park’ in 1858.
