กรุงเทพ, Thailand

The Office of Arts and Culture, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University has been designated to take care of old buildings remaining in the compound, including Sai Suddha Nobhadol building. Originally, the building was the residence of H.R.H. Princess Nibha Nobhadol and her mother H.H. Princess Saisavali Bhiromya. Due to the favor of H.H. Princess Saisavali Bhiromya, the surrounding of the building was nourished with both tropical and temperate flowers. Her vision and artistic outlook had formed a very important historical evidence in the form of watercolor paintings. Those were produced by the courtiers in the royal household. There was no record how many paintings were there; however, 131 remained. Before coloring, the sketch had to be approved since all colors were imported and costed a high amount of money. The history during the reign of King Rama VI and VII can be learned via the paintings - the climate, the weather, the ways of life, etc.
