The Ministry of Culture in Mongolia comprises 7 subordinate offices and 23 affiliated organizations. Its primary objective is to establish a unified and sustainable cultural governance system that enhances the value of national culture in the region, defines common national values, and increases its contribution to the national economy. The ministry has a long history, having been established in 1956. However, it underwent periods of dissolution and integration with other ministerial entities before finally achieving autonomy as a separate and distinct ministry in 2020.
The program has been meticulously developed, carefully considering the state policy on culture, documents on Mongolia's development policy and planning, the Constitution of Mongolia, the Law on Culture, resolutions, and the Law on the Protection of Cultural Heritage. It also considers global trends, the tangible condition of the culture industry, and national features.
The ministry's ultimate goal is to create a sustainable and dynamic cultural governance system aligned with the needs of the country's citizens. Its efforts aim to promote Mongolian culture and heritage, enhance national identity, and drive economic growth.
