Touring Club of Italy is a non-profit organization founded in 1894 with the aim of spreading and developing the social and cultural virtues of tourism and promote a form of tourism based on awareness and responsibility.
It counts more than 250,000 members and a network of more than 3,300 volunteers.
Since its foundation its archives have been conserving a heterogeneous heritage, hosting a wide range of themes. Among these, TCI owns a photographic archive with more than 350,000 prints of B/W images from the late 1800s to the 1970s. It documents the Italian landscape and many foreign countries, as well as numerous subjects related to tourism, transport, roads, hospitality, culture, fashion, traditions, folklore, work: a precious repertoire, unique for its vastness and time coverage. A library, a map library, a historical archive, special funds and other material complete an extraordinary collection.
