The Union of Architects in Romania is a professional association of creators, the successor and preserver of the Romanian Architects Society's traditions, founded in 1891.

UAR's cultural activities encompass 2 essential directions (but with many overlapping areas): a) the protection and promotion of the existing built heritage (spaces, buildings, landscapes) with its related social connections (community identity, techniques, value systems) and b) the heritage documentation (research, publications, archive management), for the promotion of added value projects in the field of architecture, urban planning, territorial planning, restoration and landscape, theory and critique in these fields

Uniunea Arhitecților din România (UAR) are ca scop promovarea arhitecturii și urbanismului ca domenii ale culturii, protejarea patrimoniului construit și a peisajului. UAR este o asociație profesională de creatori, apolitică, independentă, cu personalitate juridică, de drept privat fără scop lucrativ, care desfășoară o activitate de utilitate publică pe durata nelimitată, dispunând de buget și patrimoniu propriu.
