Wild Planet Trust was established in 2019, however our work as a registered education, scientific and conservation charity goes back to 1957, with the formation of the Herbert Whitley Trust (later to become the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust).
Although based in Devon, our work has a truly global impact, as we strive to achieve our vision through our field projects, and by inspiring our guests that visit our zoos and reserves.
Our mission:
Wild Planet Trust strives to conserve species and habitats, and to inspire and empower people to help in the fight to protect wildlife.
Our strategic aims:
• Engagement. Inspiration and empowerment of the public to join our conservation culture and actively participate in conservation of the natural world.
• Local Conservation. Practical conservation of local habitats and species.
• Global conservation. Providing leadership, training, expertise, technical support and crucial funds to our overseas conservation partners.
• Advocacy. Campaigning and advocating for wildlife and the natural world with key organisations and decision makers.
