The Yerevan Biennial Art Foundation (YBAF) is a visual arts organization based in Yerevan (Armenia) committed to an all-encompassing approach to establish a creative ecosystem interconnecting the realms of the arts, culture and education.
YBAF is primarily dedicated to the staging of a periodical contemporary art exhibition, the Yerevan Biennial. The Foundation is rooted locally but has an international outlook and profile. YBAF is also committed to education and professional development with a focus on the cultural sector and creative industries.
The Yerevan Biennial will unfold across two years (2020-2021) starting its activities only digitally due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2020-2021 Yerevan Biennial is a brand-new cultural enterprise and the first initiative of its kind in the region. The aim is to promote contemporary visual culture in and from the Country. The Yerevan Biennial’s activity is primarily directed to local communities, but also aims to engage international audiences physically and digitally. We thrive to become an initiative that Armenians are proud of and people of the diaspora and international audiences are curious about.
