Art meets innovation
From Online Experimentation to In-Person Exploration
Discover a new residency format, digital experiments, and more
Since first collaborating in 2011, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Google Arts & Culture have explored how technology can take the museum’s mission global.
And with this latest collaboration comes new innovations helping you experience The Met's collections like never before...
Discover your own Art Aura
Art Aura is a new experiment, fresh from the Google Arts & Culture Lab. It's a new way to explore The Met collection and unlock your own unique art persona (with the help of Google’s Gemini).
Drag words and images into the AI Discovery Zone and you'll be guided through the hundreds of thousands of artworks and artifacts from The Met's collection. You can even generate your own portrait. Are you a Cosmic Stage Designer, a Classical Humanist, or something else entirely?
Meet the Technologist in Residence
You can also learn about the first Technologist in Residence at The Met, who built prototypes using AI tools to support visitors with museum navigation, close-looking at artworks, and connecting The Met with the world.
