The Moses Mabhida Stadium is located in the city of Durban, on the east coast of South Africa. It is well known for its iconic arch of triumph. This modern construction has received 27 awards and it has the highest level of utilization in the country.

The Moses Mabhida Stadium has changed the look and feel of the city attracting local and international visitors. Its design, innovative aesthetics, and surroundings make it a winning stadium.

The stadium is named after Moses Mabhida, a politician who helped the creation of a democratic South Africa.

The roof is made of 46,000 m2 of teflon-coated glass fibre that produces a translucent glow when the stadium is lit up.

Did you know that the construction of the stadium took 32 months, creating 26,000 jobs?

Created for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, it is a multipurpose stadium that can accommodate up to 85,000 spectators and welcomes fans from different sports.

The design of the stadium is inspired by the Y shape” of the South African flag.

The feature that stands out is its grand arch, at 350 m long and 106 m high. It is a symbol of a diverse nation united by sports.

The color of the seating looks like the sea flowing onto the beach and perfectly matches the white structure of the stadium.

Its dynamic design allows natural ventilation and creates a sense of great space and freedom.

On non-match days visitors can experience different adventures like taking a ride up the Skycar on top of the arch where they can enjoy amazing views of Durban or free falling into the stadium bowl.

The enclosure where the stadium is located has an urban design that organically integrates with the city.

Its contemporary design is focused on creating a public space accessible to people.

The esplanade, covered with polished concrete floors, features a pedestal that resembles a dune and a cascading water fountain in the center.
