Students from the Academy of Fine Arts Munich took a current look at the style and themes of the paintings on display. They dealt with the stylistic features of Caravaggism in front of the originals.

The students have set very different priorities. Sebastian Meindl dissolves the work into its fragmentary origins and reveals individual layers of painting, deliberately defining the work as unfinished.

The young painter was inspired by a work by Gerard van Honthorst which shows Saint Sebastian punctured by arrows.
