In New York, the art installations at the United Nations Headquarters and in Central Park reflected the issues and topics of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and New York’s engagement with the Climate Action Agenda. It also acted as the central point for the larger global activations of Breathe with Me week across digital media, and in school and institutional workshops around the world.

Breathing across the world

Breathe with Me is an ongoing, multifaceted global art project by the Danish artist Jeppe Hein, and has since 2019 invited people from all over the world to participate in various forms of the project in Denmark, the USA, Switzerland, China and many other countries.

In collaboration with ART 2030, Jeppe Hein wants to bring people together across countries, cultures and identities through Breathe with Me. The artwork invites people to paint their own breath through long, vertical, blue brushstrokes on large surfaces in various designs. The brushstrokes make the invisible breathing quite visible and creates unity and understanding of the cohesion of man and the planet.
