Getting to Know Niki Mukhi
Niki Mukhi is an internationally renowned composer, guitarist, writer and UX designer who has set up his base in Dubai.
His collection of work includes albums, scores for international theatre and soundtracks for television documentaries and radio, including the BAFTA-nominated BBC documentary, ‘The Power of Art’.

The compositions of Mukhi reflect the spirit of multicultural co-existence and evolution into the future. Many of them display a fusion of inspiration including flamenco, jazz, qawwali, Indian classical and soul music.
He has performed from London to Las Palmas, at major music events including the iconic Glastonbury Festival and the Cologne Philharmonic.

More Than Music
Beyond his remarkable presence as an artist, Niki casts his influence in society as an entrepreneur, writer and an active presence for social causes. His music sketchbook tool, ‘The Making Music App,’ was launched in 2014 to encourage musicians to play, practise and write music.
The social music platform Brapp, which he co-founded in 2015, promoted collaboration among artists through a recording App.
Honoured as an Apple® Editor’s Choice App, it has hosted over 50,000 artists across a hundred countries and triggered the creation of Brapp records, featuring artists discovered on the platform.

In 2020, he joined hands with Assad Lakkis of Bull Funk Studios to organise a live-streamed music festival fundraiser in response to the crisis in Beirut and the global stay-at-home campaigns.
Niki Mukhi set up his studio called The Chocolate Factory in the city of Dubai, a melting pot of cultures that celebrates world fusion just as his music does.
In 2021, he was among the first artists to be honoured with the Golden Visa for his contributions to arts and culture in the region.
