FRONT International:Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art
FRONT is a collaboration with museums, civic institutions, and alternative spaces across Cleveland, Akron, and Oberlin that showcases an ambitious roster of artistic projects and programs.
FRONT launched its first exhibition in July 2018, An American City: Eleven Cultural Exercises, teaming up with all of Cleveland and the region’s most renowned arts and cultural institutions, making it unique in the world for the scope of its collaboration.

FRONT 2018 was on view from July 14 – September 30, 2018.
FRONT brings together international, national, and regional artists, curators, and scholars.
FRONT focuses on process, research, collaboration, and long-term engagement with Cleveland and Northeast Ohio to provide an expansive stage to create and share new artwork that is inspired by and engaged with the social, political, cultural, ecological and economic issues of our time.
Its inaugural edition An American City, which was curated by Artistic Director Michelle Grabner, generated over 90,000 visitors from more than 25 countries and brought $31 million in new economic activity to the region.
