Artist Spotlight: Benedetto Morassutti

Benedetto Morassutti was born in Padua in 1947. He is a photographer and wood sculptor. He attended several art symposiums, exhibiting his work in Austria, Italy, and Germany. Morassutti is also the originator of Art Aia that later became Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence.

Benedetto Morassutti uses his camera not only to depict reality but as a creative tool.His research tends without special tricks of technique, cut or chromatic saturation, to particular optimal states.His works return the sense and presence of a visual ability to go beyond the facts to contemplate simple rhythms, silent phrasing of light, graphics, random modulations of color fields.

The capture of structures, the details, and shadings give his excerpted and suggestive photographs a tension that makes the viewer step closer to see behind them. 

Benedetto Morassutti discovers with his mind and imagination details and hidden harmonies of small, simple things that often surround us invisibly - although visibly - and he tracks them down with his camera. 

As a photographer, Morassutti likes to use long focal lengths and leaves the cutouts of the originals exactly as he saw them.
