Getting to Know Yana Mann
Yana Mann is a singer, song-writer and producer based in Dubai. Born in St. Petersburgh, Mann grew up with an interest in classical music and theater.

She completed her musical studies at the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music and the Tchaikovsky Academic Music College before pursuing her passion at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts and Academy of young singers at the Mariinsky theater.
Before she moved to Dubai in 2014, Mann built a rich musical career in St. Petersburg and performed on many stages including the prestigious Mariinsky Theater and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic.
Even though she was trained in classical music and opera, Mann showed keen interest in exploring diverse musical realms as well as fashion. She has experimented with electronic music and was once a part of a heavy metal band.

“Poems from the bar”
In the midst of the pandemic, Yana Mann announced an album called Los Poemas de bar (“Poems from the bar”) born from the magical collaboration with the minimalist composer Julián De La Chica.
It is inspired by real stories of people who De La Chica met in the bars of New York City. Mann has attempted to recreate them with her voice and emotions.
In February 2022, the mezzo-soprano Yana Mann released Mandala - VI Poems, the first part of the forthcoming studio album, Paisaje Nihilista.
In the same month, she made her Carnegie Hall debut and the world premiere of two song cycles: 11 Poemas de Bar Op.12 – which was also Mann’s studio recording debut – and Arias Florentinas Op.15, composed by Julian de La Chica and dedicated to Mann.

About the role that Dubai plays in her work and life, Mann says: “Dubai is my home now. It has the facilities to have a certain lifestyle and time where I can focus on my international projects.
Dubai is safe, it is easy to get around and I live in a house 5 min walk from the beach which is amazing.”
