This eboard on the outer-left stands out due to its modulation grip, an extra which was relatively rarely sold as an accessory yet which is more often than not mistreated or lost and is just as highly sought-after as its main attraction.

What else can be said about this classic SH-101? It looks like a cool synthesizer, sounds like a cool synthesizer, and is amazing to play as a monophonic synth, with all the basic features an instrument needs.

Whether audiences found the final product cool or maybe even not so cool was ultimately down to the user.

And it’s these users who bought the SH-101 when it was new at the start of the ‘80s who are often already gray on top.

And with that, the circle is complete.
