The Workshops of the Deutsches Museum
Our workshops combine traditional craftsmanship, creativity and meticulousness. Unique pieces are produced here, masterpieces are expertly restored and the building and technology are maintained.
A fresh coat of paint and proper printing: everything that needs colour is processed in the exhibition painter's workshop. Small posters, in-house letterheads and research sheets for children are produced in the in-house print shop.
Most of the Deutsches Museum's more than 20 in-house workshops are located directly on the Museum Island in the library building. The workshop for vehicle and machine restoration is located in Hall I of the Verkehrszentrum. You can look over the shoulders of the aircraft restorers in the transparent workshop in the Flugwerft Schleißheim.

The various workshops work closely together to create our unique demonstrations, dioramas and scenarios.

We use both traditional techniques and state-of-the-art machinery in our workshops.
The bookbinder works with glue and paper, among other things; an artificial hand can be seen in the media lab.
In addition to the construction of new elements, the preservation of the exhibits is also an important task for our specialists.
