Kysucká galéria v Oščadnici

Ondrej Zimka was born in Turzovka, Hlinene in 1937. Between 1958 and 1964 he was a student of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He completed his studies in 1964 and since then he has been applying his outstanding talent in many branches of fine arts and has also expressed himself in some other methods of fine arts. At the beginning of his carreer, he was mainly creating illustrations, caricatures and posters, also the film annimation, plastic art and art protis.  In the mid-1970s he revealed the old-new technique of painting on wood. The author applied his painting on a variety of wooden objects that were convenient to his open-minded visions and artistic way of percepting the world.

In this world, created by Ondrej Zimka, the phantasy and reality are taking the equivalent position. His paintings are the open-end stories made of individual fates of real people within the "mythology of the Kysuce Region", stories made of childhood memories but also those involving the lives of the famous personalities of the world literature or the travel impressions and impressions from visiting other cultures. All these motives march in front of us in the unknown spaces of their paralel worlds. They are fascinating by their ambiguity and the neverending revealance of new coherences. The phantastic elements, unexpected and surprising relations of objects and people, famous or less famous phantastic creatures or animals and the bottomless sense of humor became the natural part of the visual space of each painting.

Milan Mravec was born in Rakova in 1938, died in Bratislava in 2004. He was a student of the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava, continued his studies at The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, in the section of monumental painting (1958-1964). His works can be found in numerous private and public collections in Slovakia and abroad. In the second half of the 1960s, the author's profile is already very strong as the profile of the painter with the clean-cut artistic view in which he was able to combine the principles of cubistic space perception with the free, highly expressive painting style and these features can be tracked within the whole author's further artistic activity.

František Hübel was born in 1934 in Krásno nad Kysucou, died in 1978 in Bratislava.He was a student of prof. Vincent Hložník at the Department of Graphics in Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava between 1953-1959. After completing his studies, in 1962-1968, he worked as a specialist editor in publishing house Mladé letá. Later, he decided for freelance occupation. He was a long-time member of the designer committee at the publishing house Slovenský spisovateľ in Bratislava.

Miroslav Cipár, painter, graphic, designer and illustrator was born in Vysoka nad Kysucou in 1935. After completing the secondary school, he was a student of the Faculty of Paedagogics of the Comenius University in Bratislava between 1953-1955 ( Slovak language and Arts), later between 1955-1961 he studied at The School of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava( graphics and monumental painting).

was born in 1937 in Nová Bystrica. In 1964, he graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. He creates the artistic or utility ceramics. He is  one of the first Slovak ceramists who did not use the kickwheel. In his works of arts he reaches the outstanding harmony of the shape and material. His plastics are characterised by various organic forms and the closed sphere shape, often perforated or scaly surface. Mainly in the garden plastic he makes use of the options offered by the activity of the light.

was born in 1931 in Trenčín, died in 1998 in Voznica.He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1955. In 1957 he became one of the constituting members of the Mikuláš Galanda Group. In his works he focused on painting, drawing, graphics and ceramics. In painting, he became one of the most famous Slovak artists.

In the 60s, he balanced between the character lyrical-expressive abstractions and his relation to figurative arts. According to the New figuration, the human body shape gradually became dominant, which was consecutively deformed and fragmented. In the final period of his artistic work he attained the non-subject imagery.

Pavol Muška was born in Čierny Brod in 1949. In 1973 he graduated the School of fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He focuses at monumental but also more intimate works, aquarels, oil painting, art protis, photography and collage.

was born in 1928 in Klubina, died in 2002 in Bratislava. He graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in 1954, in 1959 he became a member of Mikuláš Galanda Group. His works include monumental, portrait and cabinet sculpture. The main subject of his long-term artistic reflection is the problematics of depicting a lonely figure or a couplet. At the turn of 50s and 60s he reached the characteristical shape reduction, free of detail, with accent on the sophisticated contour line.
