This is Quilt 006 of 042 in the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt collection, created during the late 1980's and early 1990's before there was effective treatment for people living with HIV.

Bruce Chatwin

Bruce was a British born writer who worked for the Sunday Times Magazine who interviewed architect Eileen Gray and politician Indira Ghandi. He became a successful travel writer in 1977. Bruce died in Nice 18th January 1989 aged 48.

Tom's quilt was made by his sister, Christina who gave the quilt to the collection before leaving to live in Hong Kong in 1992

Colin was a volunteer for Terrance Higgins Trust, and became a director of the charity. He was a lawyer, specialising in helping others with welfare issues.

Richard Evans

Richard was from Sunderland but lived in London. He died 10th July 1991, a memorial service was held at London Lighthouse.
