This is Quilt 006 of 042 in the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt collection, created during the late 1980's and early 1990's before there was effective treatment for people living with HIV.

Bruce Chatwin
Bruce was a British born writer who worked for the Sunday Times Magazine who interviewed architect Eileen Gray and politician Indira Ghandi. He became a successful travel writer in 1977. Bruce died in Nice 18th January 1989 aged 48.

Stephen died on the 29th November 1990 aged 27, his family didn't know he had AIDS. Listen to a letter from Margaret, who made the quilt.

Tom Rowe
Tom's quilt was made by his sister, Christina who gave the quilt to the collection before leaving to live in Hong Kong in 1992
Cristina handed the quilt to the Names Project before moving to Hong Kong in 1992. She also made a generous donation to the Names Project.

Scott Lago
Listen to the story of Scott written by Quilt maker Alastair Hume. Scott was one of the original volunteers at the Names Project in San Francisco.
From the South (USA) Scott earned the nickname Blanche Devereux, from The Golden Girls.

Colin D'Eca
Colin was a volunteer for Terrance Higgins Trust, and became a director of the charity. He was a lawyer, specialising in helping others with welfare issues.
Peter Robinson, a friend of Colin's made this quilt.The Quilt says it all, good looking, talented and very kind.

Richard Evans
Richard was from Sunderland but lived in London. He died 10th July 1991, a memorial service was held at London Lighthouse.
