Turing Museum of Century-Old Brands: More than an Exhibition
A visitor stepping through the doors of the Turing Museum of Century-Old Brands enters not only an exhibition space, but also an elegant mansion that carries the memory of Istanbul.
In 19th-century Ottoman architecture, wooden mansions with rear gardens were among the most distinguished building types shaping urban civil life. One important example of this tradition is the Şükrü Bey Mansion - known as the “Green House” - belonging to the Ottoman Tobacco Company Minister Şükrü Bey.
The Touring & Automobile Association of Turkey's Restoration
After state officials moved to Dolmabahçe Palace, the building fell into a long period of quiet. In 1977, under the leadership of Çelik Gülersoy, it was restored by the Türkiye Turing ve Otomobil Kurumu and brought back to life.
Our Museum Building
Located just behind the Ayasofya Hammam, between Topkapı Palace and the Blue Mosque, this two-story mansion continues today as a special place where traces of the past meet the curiosity of the present.
