One figure who offers inspiration to Nina's work is the Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo. As part of the Art for Soul project, Nina chose this photograph from the collection of the Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo as a particularly powerful depiction.
“I love this photograph of a young Frida Kahlo, taken by her Dad in 1926,” she says. “You can already tell she was going to go on to do amazing things by the look of determination in her eyes. It inspires me because, despite all the adversity life threw at her, she threw back and put everything into creating honest art and making her life beautiful.”
