Explore Milwaukee parks by illustrated map! Maptacular is an art project that challenges Milwaukee-area artists, designers and illustrators to create Milwaukee park maps in their own unique artistic style.

Milwaukee Lakefront Maptacular (2018) by Nate PadavickMilwaukee County Parks

Milwaukee's unique lakefront features several miles of parkland. This map by illustrator Nate Padavik, shows Veterans Park, McKinley Marina, Bradford Beach and the historic Lake Park

Artists were challenged with showing not just the geographic features, but the activities people enjoy in the parks - everything from dog walking to paddleboarding on Lake Michigan

Whitnall Park Maptacular (2018) by Linda BleckMilwaukee County Parks

Whitnall Park is one of Milwaukee County's largest parks. This map by Linda Bleck includes the Whitnall Golf Course, the Wehr Nature Center, Boerner Botanical Gardens and the Whitnall Beer Garden

Visitors flock to Whitnall Park for a wide range of recreational activities, including mountain biking, wildlife watching and in the winter, cross country skiing and sledding.

Doctors Park is in the northeast corner of Milwaukee County. Illustrator Scott Schiller included many of the birds, animals and native plants that can be found in the park.

Cathedral Square Park Maptacular (2019) by Monique MachutMilwaukee County Parks

Cathedral Square Park is the heart of downtown Milwaukee. The park is one of the city's oldest and dates back in 1835.

This design by Monique Machut features the popular Jazz in the Park concert series held in the park, as well as the French themed 'Bastille Days' festival.

Dominique Viverette created this map of Mitchell Park, home of the iconic Mitchell Park Domes - an indoor botanical garden with tropical and desert domes.

Lake Park Maptacular (2019) by Susan Estelle KwasMilwaukee County Parks

Lake Park is arguably Milwaukee's most famous park. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in the 1890's, the park still has many of its original features.

In this map illustrator Susan Estelle Kwas included historical details, and shows how seasonal changes in the park, with spring on the left, winter on the right.
