The Bradbury Building

The Bradbury Building has become a movie star in itself. It featured in Double Indemnity (1945) as Walter Neff's office, and in Marlowe (1969), Chinatown (1974), Lethal Weapon 4 (1998), (500) Days of Summer (2009), The Artist (2011) and many, many more.

The United Methodist Church of La Verne

Just outside of L.A. is the modernist 'Santa Barbara' church that Benjamin runs into at the climax of The Graduate (1967). When the film was released, the congregation were supposedly surprised by the racy scenes.

Something strange in the neighbourhood

In Beverly Hills Cop (1984) this is the 'Beverly Palms Hotel' that Axle Foley blags his way into, in Ghostbusters (1984) it's the 'Sedgewick Hotel', and in New York New York (1977) it's the 'Adolphus Hotel'. In reality, it's the Millennium Biltmore Hotel on South Grand Avenue.

The home of femme fatale Phyllis Dietrichson and the ill-fated Mr Dietrichson, visited by insurance salesman Walter Neff in Double Indemnity (1945) before he's roped into the murderous scam.

Shrine Auditorium

When the world's press gather in New York to see King Kong (1933) in chains, they're actually inside the L.A. Shrine Auditorium. This same building is also featured in both the 1954 and 2018 versions of A Star Is Born, and Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994).

Due to the popularity of the Musso & Frank Grill with actors and directors, it's become a popular location for TV and cinema, as seen in Cops (1922), Ocean's Eleven (2001), Mad Men (2007-2015), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).

Union Station's marble floors and cavernous lobby have been the backdrop to numerous films over the years, including Blade Runner (1982), Catch Me if You Can (2002), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
