Belin talks about his life and work....
Exhibit at the Manship Gallery in Baton Rouge, August 2014
Belin is known for his elaborate characters that are a mix between realism, caricature, and surrealism. Hailing from the south of Spain, he expressed that
street art was becoming popular in his hometown so Belin and a few friends formed the OGT Crew which is short for “Original Gay Team.” They wanted to express that they were only having fun and had an obsessive passion to create art in the streets.
Spurring inspiration from Dali, Basquiat, and Miro, coupled with a profound taste for surrealism, Belin used the streets as his canvas creating his unique style of photo realistic graffiti.
Belin is a master of spray can control, achieving unbelievable precision and fine detail in his work. Belin although a muralist, enjoys painting on canvas especially when painting “free style.”
Miguel Angel Belinchon Bujes lives and maintains a studio/shoroom together with his wife Flaxtl in Linares, Spain where he has become a living legend and local hero.
