Renowned for her contribution to modern art, Georgia O'Keeffe was one of the most important and influential artists of the 20th century. Originally a commercial artist, her work shifted dramatically after studying under Arthur Wesley Dow. He encouraged her to think about art in new ways, leading to O'Keeffe experimenting with more abstract drawings.
