That front building did not survive the war – only parts of the foyer, the auditorium and the stage survived the war.

The Capitol Musical Theater after the reconstruction
Today's glass façade, as well as the theatre's logo, repeat the motif from before the war: six vertical lines and the inscription Capitol.

Historic interiors
During the reconstruction of the theater in 2011-2013, the renovation and reconstruction of the historic interiors took place, which was led by architect Anna Morasiewicz. The foyer on the ground floor together with the Big Stage auditorium is a part of the theater that survived the war.
Historic Interiors
Care was taken to ensure that all elements of the decor harmoniously matched each other and referred to the Art Deco style.
Every theater space that has undergone renovation now shines with splendor at its best.
Thanks to thoughtful details, history is coherently combined with modernity.
There is no other theater interior so spectacular and so carefully restored in Poland.

The Public of The Great Scene
This place looks as impressive today as it did in 1929, when it opened. Green and copper glazes were applied to the silver and gold walls.

The Great Scene Audience
The armchairs on the ground floor were arranged in a slight arc, with a slight depression inside, so that the spectators, looking to the side, would not obstruct their view of the stage.

The magnified scene
The former steel curtain was replaced with a new one, moved towards the auditorium, near the existing ramp of the orchestra pit (orchestral moat), thus increasing the active size of the stage.

Reference to history
The introduction of a glazed "trace" of the unusual, pre-war façade of the Capitol and the light advertisement of the theater above the entrance reflects the uniqueness of the illumination and material of the building that no longer exists.

Pressure Scene
Thanks to the possibility of changing the layout of the seats, the Pressure Stage gives the creators the freedom to create the stage space.
Opposite the main entrance there is a theater yard covered with a glass roof. You can relax here, drink coffee, use the Internet. It is not only a meeting place for spectators before the performance begins, but also a place for artistic events. Vernissages of works exhibited in the Backyard, performances of Capitol actresses and actors and invited guests, and yoga classes are held here.
An important new element of the theater is the Green Terrace, a space where properly cared for plants form a huge, living wall. It decorates the interior, there is also a relaxation area next to it.

Alessandro Mendini's Arlecchino
From July 2018, at the entrance to the theater from ul. Świdnicka stands a sculpture designed by an Italian artist especially for Wrocław. It complements the urban vision of the facility and the place where modernity is combined with tradition and the history of the city and culture.
