Her work explores and supports her dearly-held ideals of feminism, the rights of indigenous peoples, and communism. This, combined with her unique style, have made her one of the most loved artists of all time.

This picture, called The Bus, is an autobiographical work depicting the people who were present when Kahlo suffered horrific injuries in a bus accident in 1925 - including possibly the artist herself on the left.

The injuries she sustained in the bus accident meant that Kahlo was unable to have children, and themes of fertility were common in her later work. This picture, entitled Sun and Life features what appear to be womb-like flowering plants.
