Getting to Know Areen Hassan
Areen Hassan, a passionate and talented artist and textile designer, grew up in a culture filled with vivid colors, embroidery, and creativity. Her childhood was steeped in Palestine's rich artistic traditions, and her work reflects the deep roots of these traditions.
The philosophy of the 'Islamic Garden' is intricately woven into her artistic pieces. Embracing sustainability, she blends recycled fabrics with a medley of hues and employs an array of techniques, such as embroidery and ravelling, to create a rich tapestry of expression.
Her artistic journey carried her through many cities, from New York and Hamburg to Dubai and Manama, where she joined a number of art exhibitions.
She has been recognised at many occasions, and several of her works found a permanent residence in the Hamburg Museum of Arts and Crafts.
