"O Museu à minha procura"  (The Museum in search of me)

This exhibition traces the life of some of the University of Porto's most emblematic collections: how they were born, how they have developed, and how and what traces they will leave in history.

The name of the exhibition is inspired by the title of Ruben A.'s autobiographical work - O mundo à minha procura, a writer whose life intersects with the history of the building that now houses the Hall of Biodiversity - Ciência Viva Center, one of the poles of the MHNC-UP.

Exhibition narrative

The exhibition is organized in five sections, corresponding to five key actions in the process of building, preserving and promoting collections: exploring, describing, measuring, conserving and disseminating. Through this steps each object becomes unique and takes on meaning.

In fact, O Museu à minha procura is much more than that. It's a way of saying that the future Museum of the University of Porto - currently under construction - will become an global reference institution.
