This art gallery can be found in the heart of the Zona Cultural, an officially designated and state-recognized cultural district at Historic Market Square.

Sabor del Mercado

The large purple and blue hued paleta sculpture titled found at on the steps of Centro de Artes Gallery is titled “Sabor del Mercado” by San Antonio Artist David Blancas. The approximately 10-foot artwork was created with acrylic on wood with resin.

Free & Open to All

One of the most visited cultural venues in Texas, it is always free and open to the public. We present a full season of solo and group exhibitions and programming annually through an open call managed by the City of San Antonio Department of Arts and Culture.

Stories of the Immigrants

This exhibition includes a series of textile tapestries, a collection of framed quilts, as well as a series of clandestine photos taken in a restricted area at the border, the ropas, and the immigration camp.

Ancestors (triptych)

Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo encountered traditional Mexika dance in San Jose, California.  In 2007, she began to practice with a local caluplli and dance at ceremonies.

Padilla’s work combines pop culture icons of the eighties with figures from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, creating postmodernist pop art in urban spaces. On display through June 30, 2024 at the Centro de Artes Gallery.
