The Rise of Dubai's Surfers Community
This demanding sport began to flourish in the emirate in the early 1990s. Its growth has been driven by a dedicated group of surfers who explored local beaches to find the best spots. Their efforts led to the creation of a vibrant community, which now boasts over 1,500 members.
Innovation Out of Necessity
As a passionate surfer and a key member of Dubai’s Surfer Community, Daniel Van decided to join forces with his partner, Scott Chambers, united by their shared love for surfing and coffee. Together, they established “The Surf House” as a go-to spot for surfing enthusiasts.

From Passion to Profession
Founded in 2005, “The Surf House” quickly became the go-to destination for surfing enthusiasts to find all their gear. It also offers a welcoming space for surfers to gather and connect over a cup of coffee made by barista and surfer Daniel.
