Meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince

Clara

In English National Ballet's Nutcracker, Clara herself transforms into the Sugar Plum Fairy at the end of the ballet.

After her many adventures, and after the Mouse King has been defeated, she transforms into the Sugar Plum for the lavish celebration that takes place in an enchanted garden. 

In this picture, Clara is portrayed by ENB Lead Principal Erina Takahashi. The Nutcracker is played by Soloist Skyler Martin.

Drosselmeyer's Nephew/The Prince

Drosselmeyer's nephew, who appears at one point in the ballet as Clara's Nutcracker, transforms into a Prince for the final celebration. 

He and the Sugar Plum Fairy dance a beautiful pas de deux. 

The Nephew/Prince is played here by ENB Lead Principal Francesco Gabriele Frola.

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

With one of Tchaikovsky's most recognisable pieces of music, the Sugar Plum Fairy solo is a favourite with ballet fans the world over. Is is beautifully danced here by ENB Soloist Rina Kanehara.
