What is the Spade Award?

Each year at our AGM we present our prestigious Spade Award to an individual or organisation who has made an outstanding contribution to London's parks and green spaces. It was first given in 1970 to the Church of St John the Evangelist, East Dulwich, for their excellent garden.

50 YEARS ON

In 2020, celebrating its 50th Anniversary, the Spade was presented to two recipients:
Deptford Folk, led by Trina Lynsky, for improvement, preservation and protection of Deptford Parks &
Tony Leach for his support of the MPGA and London's green spaces
