Despite the ongoing efforts of date producers, managing waste remains a significant challenge. This problem inspired the creation of Dateform, a project dedicated to transforming date waste into a valuable resource.
The Start of Dateform: An Academic Vision
Dateform was created as part of an academic project on sustainable practices, The team’s research revealed that dates are a locally grown product consumed in large quantities every day.

In the UAE, nearly 108 million kilograms of date seeds go unused annually. Recognizing the potential of this byproduct, Dateform set out to transform it into sustainable materials.

A Sustainable Alternative to Traditional Materials
Dateform teams up with date syrup and cake factories to collect date seed waste and turn it into eco-friendly alternatives to conventional materials like wood, concrete, and steel.
Prototyping for Success
Since 2019, Dateform has engaged in an extensive process of material testing and prototyping, performing nearly 500 tests and resulting in the creation of five unique products.
