Cervantes in the world

Miguel de Cervantes perilous life was imprinted in his works and mainly, in the pages of the “Ingenious gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha”. Moments and places of the Quixote are identified with moments and places of the author and as a consequence, many have been adopted and embraced as common heritage by all. There is no city or town that, be it because the author passed by there or because it was mentioned in “The Quixote” don’t have memory of him or the novel. Other many places, that didn’t count with their presence, have erected or show proud Cervantine references, because Cervantes is part of their cultural heritage. Madrid has Don Quixote and Sancho Panza in the Plaza de España; Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) keep the birthplace house of the author open, same as Valladolid that exhibits their Cervantine house; Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real) shows proud their windmills, while Puerto Lápice (Ciudad Real) has an inn in their memory. Likewise, Seville has a statue in their memory, and Panama and San Francisco (USA) have monuments of Cervantes in America. They are just a few examples of the Cervantine print throughout the world. Four centuries after his death, the figure of Cervantes and his works don’t cease to grow and transcends all borders and languages.
