More than two centuries since the birth of Charles Darwin, the Regional
Natural Sciences Museum of Turin has opened fourth and new permanent
exhibition. The exhibition is spread over an area of about 1,500
sq.m. divided into three macro-aree.
The ideation and the management of the scientific project were carried out by Giorgio Celli, famous ethologist and Italian writer who died in June of 2011.
The diversity of nature
The first macro-area is a kind of modern Wunderkammer crossed by a massive red ribbon, scenic and structural element of the museum that houses rare artifacts.

The tour opens on minerals, gorgeous quartz specimens that form part of the mineralogy and petrography collection of the museum, still one of the most prestigious collections in Europe.

A small forest of cylinders and transparent plates welcome trunk of cork oak, palm, golden bamboo, and even flowers, leaves and branches as in a large impressive herbarium.
Nine large acrylic panels with natural plant insert show the development of photosynthetic organisms: algae, bryophytes, pteridophytes, gymnosperms and angiosperms.
