I decided to do some of the great sculptures and paintings of the mythological character Cupid. Cupid was the god of desire, love and affection. Cupid was a central character and was said to be the son of Venus. He was the main character when it comes to love in the Greek and Roman mythological times.

In this picture you can see a picture of Venus and Cupid sitting down together. This is an oil painting and it shows a lot of detail in in contrast around the outside of the painting. As the painting moves to the center you can see it start to focus more on whats happening in the middle of the picture.

This is a sculpture of Cupid and his mother Venus again. As you can see Cupid has his bow and arrow. It is said that he sends love on an arrow. If one of his arrow strike you then you will fall in love.

This is another sculpture of Cupid but this one is wood. The pattern in the wood is all gone and you can see the dark grain really give it the color it is now. Im not sure if the wings were in a pattern or certain strokes but I'm sure it is.

In this painting you can see Cupid in the background. The painting has very good contrast and tone. The bottom right you can see the shield and sword in nice detail as well.

This painting is the one that sticks out most for me on my gallery. If you look the right way its almost like Cupids head isn't quite on right. It almost looks like it will fall off if he isn't careful. The detail put into his wings to me are not that impressive to me either.

This is a charm of a necklace that is from the early 17th century. Its has some Indian artistic side to it as you can see with the bright colors all on it.
In this sculpture you can see that the natural color of it has started to fade making it a green color. I think older statues and sculptures that have this green tint really show character in them. It presents more of a old feel to the sculpture.

In this stone sculpture of Cupid he looks as if he is sleeping on a pillow on stone. You can see that his arm is missing and other parts may be missing as well. It looks like this could be a pice that was on a bigger piece of art in a building or on it.

This painting is of Cupid showering gold onto someone. The gold in the art stands out with the dark background. There is a good amount of texture in the bed and sheets that is in the bottom portion of the painting as well.

In this painting you can see cupid straddling what looks like a bed. He is holding his arrows again also. The contrast in this picture has Cupid really standing out and nothing really in the background. The bottom half of the painting are all filled in but not the top almost as if he is fading to black.
