My art gallery displays artists viewpoints on religion. Each artist has their own religion which means we all see things differently. Some praise a different God some praise many. But that`s the beauty of art nothing is the same. So enjoy my art gallery of artist from different religions. Many differences, but they all love their God.

St Martina calling down Lightning on the Idols, Cortona, Pietro da, 17th century, From the collection of: Dulwich Picture Gallery
In this painting we see St Martina looking up to the heavens as if she was praying for help from the angels. Help is what she asked for & help is what she received. At the top at the painting you see the angels looking down upon her. Saving her from torment & giving it to the others in return. She is thankful. She believed and she was saved.
Bone Tear, Yee, Sookyung, 2010, From the collection of: Korean Art Museum Association
In the drawing Bone Tear we see a woman in white with white hair that was drawn by Yee, Sookyung crying gold colored tears & a hand full of offering. The description pointed out that the body is just a vessel so I see the gold tears as her pouring out her soul to the God that she is giving thanks to. She`s more than thankful for the blessing she received.
In this image we see the religious ceremony on martinique. It was a baptismal of the ones that were in white robes. A reason why i used this image in my gallery is because it definitely is an example of how we do things today. When it comes to religion someone being baptized deserves a celebration. I notice nothing changed since the summer of 1850.
Krestny Khod (Religious Procession) in Kursk Gubernia, Ilya Repin, 1880 - 1883, From the collection of: The State Tretyakov Gallery
In the Krestny Khod image we see everyone that stood by the religion moving in a procession. We see two individuals being hoisted up. One of them were inside shielded from the sun while the other one was not. The one who was inside had the most power. Walking you see the peasants that are totally shown no respect at all.
Islamic Religious Leader, Han Rak-yeon, 1898/1946, From the collection of: Korea Data Agency
In this portrait we see the Islamic Religious Leader which ws created by Han Rak-yeon back in 1946. Whats interesting about this picture is that Islamic religious leaders and islamic people still dress the same today. Nothing has changed at all. The guy symbolizes wisdom to me. He`s an elder you can tell by his white beard and his face is serious like he only speaks the truth.
The Tower of Babel, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, circa 1568, From the collection of: Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
In this image we see the Tower of babel. This is honestly where i believe religion actually came from. this is where everyone got different view points on things. Pieter Bruegel drew this out just like the people that tried to build the Tower of Babel tried to create it. The tower of Babel was built to go into the heavens and thats the same way Pieter presented it. Above the clouds in the heavens because people did not want to die to make it to heaven. So they tried to make their own way. The spark of religion.
Christ on the Cross, El Greco (Domenico Theotokopoulos), 1600–1610, From the collection of: The J. Paul Getty Museum
In the image of Christ on the Cross you see christ explained just as he is in the bible. A nail in his feet and hands and a crown of thorns in his hands. a lot of religions don't believe in jesus but i look at this picture and honor it because of what Christ died on this cross for, our sins. At the bottom we see skull and bones which i think represents us before his crucifixion.
The Young Saint John the Baptist, Antonio Rossellino, c. 1470, From the collection of: National Gallery of Art, Washington DC
In this image we see John the baptist who was actually the cousin of jesus christ. He even baptized Jesus so the well defined lines and well made sculpture defines John well. He was honored and looked up to by others because he knew what jesus was going to do and what his goal on earth was. When it comes to the christian religion John was very important. This picture is a great form of art.
The Adoration of the Magi, Sandro Botticelli, c. 1478/1482, From the collection of: National Gallery of Art, Washington DC
Looking at the Adoration of magi i see it as the birth of jesus christ. As explained in the bible the wise man came and they honored the son of God. As you see here they are on their knees with all eyes glued in awe of the blessing that we were all sent. This image is in my gallery because even though christ is not in human form now. But if he was we`d still do the same now. His believers that is.
Angels and the Girl, Vilmantas Marcinkevičius, 2000, From the collection of: MO Museum / MO muziejus
In the painting of Angels and the Girl we notice that the girl is actually sad. Usually if i saw angels in a pic and i knew that they were watching me i`d feel good. But Vilamantas made the painting there is some angels that are good and some that are bad. When it comes to religion God gave them personalities just like us, so i definitely understand Vilmantas view point of this painting.
